Changing My Protocol – Treatment Weeks 37 & 38


I wish I could say that this fortnight was better, but I can’t.  The insomnia subsided slightly, but the nausea was still a real problem, waking me up in the night and keeping me that way for hours.

I had a phone appointment with my Breakspear doctor and together we agreed that it would be a good idea to switch to a herbal protocol for a while to give my body a break. I was really nervous to start this because everything I seem to do at the moment seems to make me feel worse, but by the end of the fortnight I’d plucked up the courage to start.

My Chronic Life Turns Two!

Hello there,

So today marks two whole years since I started this blog. Wow, I’m actually finding this hard to believe.


This time last year, for My Chronic Life’s 1st birthday I wrote a summary of all my favourite posts that year. I’m not going to do that this year, because to be honest I don’t feel that proud of much of the content that I’ve produced on here this year. I don’t think I’ve written many particularly insightful, or thought provoking posts.

Nausea and Insomnia Continued – Treatment Weeks 35 & 36


These last two weeks have been hard, for a number of reasons. Firstly, as you can probably guess from the title of the video, the nausea and insomnia that started last week hasn’t really let up. So just generally things have been quite difficult. I did manage to make it to an appointment though, which I’m very proud of myself for doing!

Secondly, the second half of this fortnight was hugely stressful. It got to the point where I was less than two weeks away from going back to Breakspear, and it felt impossible. I wasn’t eating or sleeping properly, and basically felt the most ill I’ve ever felt. After grappling with the decision for a few days, I made the decision to cancel.
